We offer jewellery workshops from our working jewellers studio, a hands-on and laid-back experience making lasting keep-sakes. You will learn how to create your own piece of silver jewellery and leave with it on the day.

Workshop information

Workshops can accommodate from 2-5 people, if you have a smaller group you may attend a workshop with another small group or individual/s. (mixed group bookings will take place from June 2022 unless you have a pre-existing voucher from 2021)

If you would like to book for a large group for special occasions (birthdays, hen do’s etc) please get in touch to arrange a date in advance.

We can, on occasion, accommodate workshops outside times advertised, please get in touch.

Please come prepared for your workshop with glasses if you require them, a hair tie if you have long hair and in the appropriate clothing, for example avoid wearing loose and floaty sleeves for safety reasons.

Make your own wedding bands

£330 per couple (+materials)

What could be more personal, special and sentimental than the experience of making yours or your partners wedding ring?  The make your own wedding band experience is a relaxed fun day on the West coast of Lewis, where you have the chance to create something truly unique, memorable and personal to you and your fiancé.

Held in our fully equipped studio, you will be expertly guided through all then steps and processes to create your own bands. You will be provided with material to practice with before moving onto your final design and material.

At the end of the workshop you can choose to leave with your rings to show your family and friends* or your rings will be sent for Hallmarking at the Edinburgh Assay office, if you would like any engraving this can also be arranged at an additional cost.

* You can return the rings to us another day to be sent for hallmarking

Your workshop experience includes

One-on-one guidance for you and your partner, including demonstrations from your trained jeweller.

A wedding ring consultation where we will discuss your rings, shape of band and choice of metals

Standard silver rings ( you can upgrade your metal to gold or platinum, available at metal cost price on day of purchase)

Digital photos of your rings and your experience in the workshop throughout the day

Engraving

Any Islewear designs (Machair, Landscape, Sealeaf etc) are not included for the workshops as advanced techniques are required and designs are copyright to Islewear. You are however able to make plain, hammered and textured rings.

Designs such as our Seafoam collection as advanced techniques are required in making in metals such as platinum.

Please note, our wedding ring workshop is suited for plain, hammered, textured or stamped rings, it is not suitable for any stones, diamonds or settings as this is a skill that requires training and cannot be completed in a day.

Enquire about a booking

It is recommended to make bookings at least 3 months in advance of the date of your Wedding or Civil partnership to allow time for hallmarking or any alterations.

On confirmation of your booking, a non refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure your day. The remainder of the balance is due one month in advance of your workshop.

We will need your design confirmation for the rings and which metal you would like to use so we can order them in time for the day.

If travelling to us for your wedding ring workshop experience, we will arrange a digital consultation with you, we advise that you visit your nearest jewellers to take an accurate reading of your ring size in advance of this.
