The Islewear Story

Islewear, founded by designer Jordane Symington in 2017, is an independent contemporary jewellery brand creating organic treasures celebrating the unique heritage of rural Scotland. We create alternative jewellery that is beautifully designed and skilfully created, inspired and shaped by the wild elements of Scotland.

We are endlessly inspired by the elements and how they shape our island life, seeking to include the Hebridean essence within each of our designs. We do this by including a small piece of nature such as seaweed, Machair fauna, Gneiss rock textures, shells and even lichen within each item of jewellery, so that you can wear, and treasure a small piece of our Island home.

Islewear has been nominated for a number of nationwide awards including Young UK Jewellery Designer of the Year and Young Scottish Craftsperson of the Year, as well as being featured in multiple nationwide publications including Vogue, Tatler, Brides, The Scotsman and the Press and Journal. Islewear was also featured on the TV show Secret Scotland with Susan Calman, showing our Landscape collection.

We offer a bespoke service that is perfect for those who seek a lasting treasure that is truly unique. We work with our clients on personal commissions ranging from engagement rings and wedding rings, and everything in between. Read more about our bespoke process.

Our Making Process

We are committed to sourcing our materials in an ethical and sustainable manner, exclusively using 100% recycled precious metals and individually sourced ethical gemstones. We work closely with our trusted suppliers to ensure we only work with ethical mines.

We believe in slow fashion, creating quality timeless pieces that will transcend fashions and seasons, and be treasured for generations to come.
